Introduction

This module develops a fundamental understanding of accounting theory and practice.  Emphasis is placed on developing techniques and skills necessary to provide a foundation for non-specialist participants with regards to financial and managerial accounting. Participants will learn about the relevance of accounting in business as well as the practical skills to compile and analyse financial statements.

What will I learn?

  • Understanding of the theory and practice of accounting fundamentals.
  • The processes involved in cash handling, budgeting, cost control mechanisms, pricing of products and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of short-term decision-making in relation to management accounting.
  • Understanding of budgeting and forecasting.
