International Standards, International Recognition

The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute

The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), founded in 1953, has been teaching leaders in the hospitality industry for over 60 years. International Hotel School, through AHLEI, has access to a wide range of learning materials that show students how to transfer the knowledge gained in the classroom to the workplace. As the only hotel school in South Africa whose Diplomas are recognised by the AHLEI, our graduates are highly sought after by leading hospitality establishments, both locally and internationally.

École Ducasse

Founded in 1999, École Ducasse has become a global leader in teaching culinary and pastry arts. Under the visionary leadership of Chef Alain Ducasse, the most awarded Michelin star chef in history, the school embodies a unique blend of tradition and modernity, with profound respect for the ingredients used.

The World Culinary Awards have named École Ducasse as the World’s Best Culinary School, and Europe’s Best Culinary School for 2023. This award recognises their commitment to excellence.

Due to our affiliation with Ecole Ducasse and alignment with their philosophy, we have chosen to offer their French skills enhancement certificates. These certifications delve into the intricate skill levels inherent in the fundamentals of French culinary and pastry arts. They cover the applied technology and science behind French cooking, featuring recipes curated by Chef Alain Ducasse and his elite team. Our chefs at International Hotel School have undergone expert training by École Ducasse’s French Chefs, ensuring that our educational standards match international levels.
