Introduction

The hospitality industry makes a significant contribution to the national and global economy. As such, the industry requires competent managerial staff who possess the required skills and knowledge for successful hospitality management. Learners achieving this course are competent to apply hospitality-specific frontline and management skills within the field. The programme introduces students to the hospitality industry and covers front office, housekeeping, food and beverage as well as general supervision.

  • Management of food and beverage operation, planning, maximising service, productivity, through the use of technology.
  • Hotel and Restaurant Accounting, and computerised accounting systems.
  • Hospitality Marketing, digital channels, development and implementation of a marketing plan.
  • Hospitality Sales approaches in the sale of rooms and food and beverage services, and technologies used in the distribution.
