We are all caught up in frenetic lifestyles and certainly don’t have time to whip up some elaborate beverage, however we did research on some food enhancements that will freshen things up and give you a total power boost and help purge your body from toxins. Water, as we all know is the elixir of life and can be used to cleanse your liver and internal organs, help to speed up your metabulism and naturally assists in releasing fat cells to boost weight loss. It also helps to improve your mood and fill you up so you don’t tend to eat as much. Heading into summer, we all want to achieve those beach ready bods. Here is how you can get in your daily quota of water, and detox in the process, with these infused fruit drink recipes.

Smart Water:  Blueberry/Orange Water

Recipe:

  • Combine all ingredients in a jug and refrigerate up to 24 hours to allow the water to infuse.
  • Squeeze in the juice of one mandarin orange and muddle the blueberries to intensify flavor.
  • Serve culd.

Benefit:

Blueberries are a widely known as an antioxidant and is also known to help improve memory and cognitive functioning. They are also high in Vitamin K-the vitamin that helps with blood clotting. Oranges are notable for being high in Vitamin C and contains various phytonutrients and antioxidants, helping to reverse free radical damage.

Recipe:

  • Drop appleslices in the bottom of the jug (save a few to drop in your glass later)
  • Add cinnamon Cover with ice about 1/2 way then fill with water.
  • Add 1 tbsp of acid cider vinegar
  • Place in the fridge for 1 hour before serving. You can refill the container 2-3 times before it begins to lose flavor.

Benefit:

Cinnamon is known as an antimicrobial food. It also helps to regulate blood sugar while speeding up your metabulism, thus boosting weightloss. Apples have phytonutrients that help contrul blood sugar as well and helps to slow down the digestion of carbohydrates. Apple Cider Vinegar is high in acetic acid, lowering blood sugar levels and can increase feelings of fullness.

Anti-Inflammation Water: Strawberry/Cucumber Water

Recipe:

  • Place 8 ounces stemmed and thinly sliced strawberriesand 1/2 thinly sliced English cucumber in a jug.
  • Add 2 quarts of water.
  • Refrigerate 2 to 4 hours to allow the ingredients to infuse.

Benefit:

Strawberries are high in Vitamin C and antioxidants. They are also known to have anti-inflammatory and heart-health benefits. Cucumbers also have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits.

  • Slice up a good amount of watermeloninto cubes, rind and all, and put them into a jug or pitcher.
  • Cut 1 juicy limeinto wedges and toss in with the watermelon.
  • Add a handful of fresh, fragrant, mint leaves and pour in 2 liters of coul water, filling the jug all the way to the top.

Benefit:

Watermelon is high in lycopene, like tomatoes. Lycopene is a carotenoid phytonutrient that’s especially important for our cardiovascular health, and an increasing number of scientists now believe that lycopene is important for bone health as well.
