Traineeship in Hospitality Management Programme

Work while you learn – Fees apply

  • 2-year programmes
  • Minimum entry requirement – National Senior Certificate with a Higher Certificate entry pass or equivalent
  • Programmes commence each year in January and July.
  • Trainee allowance is dependent on the property at which they are placed

Programme structure is based on a work while you learn basis, with trainees placed at one of the International Hotel School’s partner hotels for in-service Work Integrated Learning. Trainees’ studies are through online learning with lecture support and they are assessed in the workplace.
During this programme students will complete the following ancillary courses:

  • Wine Service
  • Basic Fire Fighting
  • Basic First Aid

Higher Certificate in Food & Beverage Programme

Upon Successful Completion the Graduates will receive:

  • IHS Higher Certificate: Food and Beverage Management (NQF Level 5) (SAQA ID No: 88063)
  • OR

Higher Certificate in Hospitality Management Programme

Upon Successful Completion the Graduates will receive:

  • IHS Higher Certificate: Hospitality Management (NQF Level 5) (SAQA ID No 88062)

Professional Cookery Programme

Upon Successful Completion the Graduates will receive:

  • IHS Higher Certificate in Food & Beverage Management (NQF Level 5) (SAQA ID No: 88063 )
  • City & Guilds Diploma in Food Preparation and Cooking (Culinary Arts)
