Higher Certificate in Food & Beverage Management Programme

  • 1-year programme
  • Minimum entry requirement – National Senior Certificate with a Higher Certificate admission or Equivalent
  • Programmes commence each year in January and July

This one-year programme provides students with the relevant theory, skills and practical experience ideal for those wishing to make their career in the field of Hospitality. This program consists of a 50% Academic lecture and a 50% Work Integrated Learning (WIL) component. The WIL takes place in leading hospitality establishments. The programme’s equal emphasis on both academic and work integrated learning ensures that graduates are job ready upon successful completion.

Upon successful completion of this programme, graduates will receive:

  • Higher Certificate Food and Beverage Hospitality Management NQF level 5
  • (SAQA ID No 88063)

On successful completion of the Higher Certificate the student can apply to study further with the Diploma in Hospitality Management or Professional Cookery and Kitchen Management NQF Level 6

During this programme students will complete the following ancillary courses:

  • Wine Service
  • Basic Fire Fighting
  • Basic First Aid
